Zimbabwe is well-known for its strong position against LGBT rights. Since 2006, people of the same sex are not allowed to even kiss, hug, or hold hands. Sodomy in the country is defined as any “act involving contact between two males that would be regarded by a reasonable person as an indecent act.”
Robert Mugabe, who has been Zimbabwean President since 1987, has more-than-once spoken publicly against homosexual rights.
These are just two of the many times he publicly attacked it, according to Wikipedia:
„I find it extremely outrageous and repugnant to my human conscience that such immoral and repulsive organizations, like those of homosexuals, who offend both against the law of nature and the morals of religious beliefs espoused by our society, should have any advocates in our midst and elsewhere in the world.”
„It degrades human dignity. It’s unnatural, and there is no question ever of allowing these people to behave worse than dogs and pigs. If dogs and pigs do not do it, why must human beings? We have our own culture, and we must re-dedicate ourselves to our traditional values that make us human beings. … What we are being persuaded to accept is sub-animal behavior and we will never allow it here. If you see people parading themselves as Lesbians and Gays, arrest them and hand them over to the police!”
Following the recent legalization of same-sex marriage in the United States of America, President Mugabe felt the need to comment on it, by asking Obama to marry him:
I’ve just concluded since President Obama endorses the same-sex marriage, advocates homosexual people and enjoys an attractive countenance thus if it becomes necessary , I shall travel to Washington, D.C. , get down on my knee , and ask his hand. – Robert Mugabe, for Zimbabwean National Radio
According to the Zimbabwe Daily, President Mugabe concluded that the American Government is currently run by perverted, diabolical, Satan-worshippers.
