Polish property investment company Scallier said on Tuesday it will open two new retail parks in Romania by the end of this year and plans at least three more openings in 2022, according to See News.
„The 6,200 sq m Funshop Park in Rosiorii de Vede is scheduled to open later this month, while the 5,000 sq m park in Focsani is to open in November,” Scallier said in a press release.
In 2022, Scallier plans to open at least three more parks in Romania.
„The retail parks developed by Scallier in small and medium-sized Romanian towns fill a market gap: smaller towns often lack modern retail space. We tend to locate our sites in the immediate vicinity to existing large-format grocery shops,” said Wojciech Jurga, the Scallier managing partner responsible for the company’s development on the Romanian market.
Apart from Jysk and Pepco, which have already inaugurated their operations in the project developed by Scallier in Rosiori, other shops will include Sinsay, KIK, Martes Sport, Deichmann and Flanco.
„This asset class proved its worth even in the wake of the coronavirus restrictions. Retail parks remained open, often becoming the only functioning shops at a location. In the era of booming e-commerce, they are becoming even more valuable and their local character facilitates the efficient delivery of goods ordered online to individual customers,” Scallier director of development Adrian Aleman said.
Founded in 2011, Scallier has been operating on the Polish market for nearly a decade and specialises in investment management in the sector of retail parks, regional galleries, arcades and free-standing commercial facilities.
