Romania‘s National Institute for Statistics (INS) announced on Tuesday that the country’s economic output increased by 7.2% year-on-year in the third quarter of 2021 for the unadjusted series and stated that for the seasonally adjusted series, Gross Domestic Product (GDP) rose 8%, according to See News.

INS data stated that compared to the previous quarter, GDP edged up 0.3% in the third quarter of 2021.

Overall, in the first nine months of 2021, Romania’s GDP increased by 7.1% for the unadjusted series and by 6.8% for the seasonally adjusted series year-on-year.

„Romania’s economic output will increase by an estimated 7.1% in 2021,” finance ministry analysts said in August, revising their previous forecast for 5% growth.

Romania’s economy contracted by 3.9% in 2020, compared to a 4.1% expansion in the previous year.
