The Incoming Romania Association (AIR) welcomed the decision by the Romanian Government to lift the ban on the entry of foreign citizens into the country from June 1, according to Romania-Insider.
„It is a beneficial measure for all of us and is, in fact, the signal to restart international tourism in Romania. From now on, foreign tourists can come to visit us, in compliance with CNSU decisions on access to our country depending on the country where they arrive,” stated a representative from the AIR, reported by Agerpres.
The National Institute of Statistics (INS) said on Wednesday that the arrivals of foreign visitors in Romania, registered at the border points, stood at 317,800 in March 2021, decreasing by 22.4% compared to March 2020.
Most of the foreign visitors who arrived in the country travelled by road and air, representing 86.9% and 8.8% of the total number of arrivals, respectively.
