On Tuesday, the European director of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), Vincent Cochetel, announced that this year approximately 730.000 people have moved from Ukraine to Russia due to the conflict in eastern Ukraine, Reuters informs.

These numbers indicate a much larger exodus than the 168.000 people who have left Ukraine and enrolled in the Russian Immigration Service.

In addition, another 117.000 people are being displaced, meaning moved from one place to another in Ukraine, a figure that increases with 1.200 every day, said a UN responsible.

UNHCR mentioned that the people who cross the border normally with commercial or touristic purposes were not taken in consideration when the numbers were calculated, Cochetel added.
