National Institute of Statistics (INS) announced on Wednesday that in June 2021 the average gross nominal earnings in Romania were 5,779 RO and was 84 RON higher than the previous month, while the average nominal net earnings were 3,541 RON and had an increase of 49 RON than May 2021, according to a press release.
According to the official figures, the highest values of the average net nominal earning were recorded in computer programming, consultancy and information-related activities (8,439 RON), while the lowest values were in the accommodation and food service areas (1,926 RON).
The INS data shows that in June 2021, as opposed to the previous month, the most significant growth of the average net salary was recorded in the publishing activities (+20.9%). Telecommunication, air transport, manufacture of-: coke products, refined petroleum products, basic pharmaceutical products, computers, electronic products and machinery was between 10.5% and 15%.
The most significant decrease in the average net earnings was recorded in the extraction of black and brownish-black coal (16.1%), but also in the extraction of crude oil and natural gas (9.6%).
In the public sector there was a slight increase in the average net earning from the previous month in education (+0.5%), and in public administration (+0.1%). The average net earnings had gone down from the previous month (-2%) for the health and social work activities.
