He has been found guilty of all 10 charges, and received a seven-year sentence
Wojciech G., a 36-year-old former priest, has been found guilty of sexually abusing eight children of ages under 15. He was found guilty of all 10 charges, and received a seven-year sentence. Due to the fact that he has already spent the last year incarcerated, he now has to spend only 6 years behind bars.
Moreover, he was able to avoid pleading guilty by appealing to a special Polish court procedure, allowing him to receive a prison sentence without the admittance of guilt.
The priest will also have to pay 155.000 PLN (~40.000 EUR) to the families of the victims.
Between 2000 and 2001, he sexually abused two boys in Poland and six others from 2009 to 2013 in the Dominican Republic.
Wojciech G. stated: “I am praying for these children. I am asking God that they will forgive me if at any time they felt any negative feelings towards me. However, on the other hand, I know myself that I have done nothing wrong.” – newpolandexpress.pl.
