The attackers fled with a car
Saturday afternoon, a civilian was killed and three police officers were injured in Copenhagen after an armed attack on a cultural center where a debate about Islam and freedom of speech was being held.
At the “Art, blasphemy and freedom of speech” debate, Swedish cartoonist Lars Vilks and the French ambassador from Denmark, Francois Zimeray, were present. They escaped unharmed.
„It was just like Charlie Hebdo, but they failed to enter the building” declared the ambassador.
In 2007, Vilks published a number of cartoons depicting the Prophet Mohamed as a dog and received several death threats from some Islamic fundamentalist groups and his house in southern Sweden was set on fire. Dozens of people were in the room.
The alleged attackers, two individuals, managed to flee with a car.
